Get to Know Jeremiah Fredrickson

I grew up a country boy in Amery. My grandpa had a dairy farm and we were always working on his farm or the neighbor’s. I love the freedom of living in the country. The people are friendly and neighbors take care of each other.

My wife and I found that same sense of community in Elk Mound where I taught high school agricultural science and coached school sports for 16 years. I’m still coaching and our kids attend public school in Elk Mound.

We run Jeremiah's Bullfrog Fish Farm together (yes, that one!) and it’s truly a family business for us. We’re proud to source fish for 16 grocery stores and restaurants, five weekly farmers markets and, in summer, open up our fishing ponds for outdoor education and summer fun.

We hear from so many of our neighbors that rural Wisconsin families are struggling – grocery prices keep going up, our local schools and hospitals are closing, veterans being left without critical services, good health care is out of reach, and small businesses can’t get ahead. The tariffs have been a huge blow to the fish farm. They’ve driven up prices on everything from packaging to fish feed and our shipping costs have tripled.

I’m running for the Assembly because something needs to change in Madison. The legislature is more focused on partisan bickering than helping working families. We need to listen to each other and work together to get things done.
